Seems I’ve fallen off the ole blog log lately; haven’t felt much up to it. Life has been fairly full of busy work lately, nothing much exciting, just busy.
The kids opened a new chapter in their, and subsequently our lives; starting middle school this week. Seems they’re off to a good start, a little culture shock, but all-in-all not too bad.
Mud Dawg baseball gets off to a bang this weekend, with a three day tournament. About half the Dawgs decided to keep playing this fall; the other half of the team is made up of guys the coaches picked up, several of which are from Boonville and the Cal Ripken tournament we played in back in July.
Work has been pretty crazy – it always is this time of year as we gear up for the sports broadcasting season and a big sales push. Additionally we’ve had lots of major network projects/upgrades underway, with incredibility short time lines. It’s about as ambitious a list as we could handle right now. The team is working really hard and I’m proud of them. I know it can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but once we’re through this (next 4-8 months) we’ll have moved the Learfield network a giant leap forward. Improved network security, improved change process and quality controls, gained efficiencies through the use of network management software, more focused and better trained personnel. All in all, an IT shop focused on managing risks and quality of services.
