So it's been a few months on the mac now with boot camp and I've found myself spending lots of time, too much time, in XP, but not anymore. Today I backed up my XP data, erased the partition and reinstalled a fresh version of OS X, not because I had too, but because I wanted to experience the mac restore process (it's as simple and straight forward as you'd expect). However the only way I can survive day-to-day at the office is by using a few windows apps. I thought about going with Parallels, but decided to take it to the next level and avoid Windows altogether. And while it's still in beta for the mac, CodeWeavers CrossOver allows mac users to run windows apps natively. So far, I've installed Office 2003 and Visio 2003 along with IE 6. And I'm happy to report the installation was a breeze, thus far these windows apps are working perfectly. Stay tuned.
