One hard decision…

For the last 2 1/2 years or so Sam has played for the Mud Dawgs. And in that time the Dawgs, coaches, kids and parents have become part of our extended family. Coaches Jade, Larry and Bobby are absolutely top notch coaches. The boys – what can I say? These boys are some of most talented and best rounded young men I've met. And the parents – everybody gets along and enjoys one another's company. It's been a dream come true.

Unfortunately, the age difference that exists between the rest of the boys and Sam, really started to show this year. I knew it was coming and was dreading it, but when boys start hitting that magical age of 13 – they start exploding in size, strength and speed. Sam's one and in some cases almost two years younger than most of the boys, and as the year went on, it became increasing more difficult for him to compete at their level.

It's a bit like walking away from part of your family, but it's time for Sam to playing with boys that are closer to his age. To the teams "core" – you boys and parents we meet in the fall of 2005 and spring of 2006, and who've been with the team all along. Skyler, Kyle, Alden, Jordan, Jake Rieken, Jake Nickelson, and parents – you all are the best. We'll see you next season and I'll take pictures of the boys when we're around. Hopefully Sam with get a chance or two to fill in through-out the season. And we'll always bleed green, no matter what colors we have on.

GOOD LUCK and GO DAWGS!
