John Haynes catches us up in both league and tournament play this past weekend. Believe it or not, it finally stopped raining in St. Louis long enough to play a couple of baseball games.
The JCBI 13U team picked up a 12-0 win in a BC League game last Wednesday. Joseph Limbach was the starting pitcher and picked up the win. Corey Beard, Scott Stegeman and Dylan Brauner pitched relief. JC knocked out 10 hits. Brauner had 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored. Beard, Limbach, Sam Atkinson, Dan Haynes, Rylie Klosterman and Trevor Rucker also had RBI’s for JC. Alex Johnson and Thomas Beul each scored twice.
Over the weekend the 13U team went 1-2 at the 9 team Fathers Day Tournament at St.Louis-Florissant. JC beat the St Louis Colts 14-8, but lost to the Indiana Outlaws 10-2 and to the Johnny Mac Illinois Dragons 8-0. Indiana went on to beat Johnny Mac for the tournament championship.
In the 14-8 win over the Colts Brauner was the starting pitcher and picked up the win, with Beard and Limbach pitching relief. Alex Johnson and Dan Haynes had back to back home runs with Johnson hitting a 3 run homer and Haynes a solo home run. For the day Johnson had 3 RBI with a run scored, Brauner was 3-3 with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored, Trevor Rucker had a 2 RBI double, with Haynes and Klosterman each having 2 RBI, and Limbach also picked up an RBI. Beard, Rucker and Joey Smith each scored 2 runs for JC.
In the 10-2 loss to the Indiana Outlaws Dan Haynes was the starter and took the loss. Jacob Laughlin pitched relief. JC was held to 3 hits with Atkinson picking up an RBI, and Haynes and Stegeman each scoring a run for JC.
In bracket play the Johnny Mac Illinois Dragons allowed just 1 hit in their 8-0 win over JC. Alex Johnson was the starter and took the loss, with Beard pitching relief. Stegeman had JC’s only hit. Johnny Mac powered out 3 home runs to drive in their runs.
