It was a tough tournament and the boys just didn’t look like themselves. Not much to say, it’s just been a really tough year and the boys can’t seem to catch a break. Character building is how you might refer to it, but as one parent pointed out. “Character building ended a month ago, this is torture.” If only it was a computer, it’d be time to hit the reset button.
The boys have a few league games this week and another couple tournaments later in July. So it’s time to hit the practice fields and try to put things back together again.

JCBI 13U – State AAA Tourney
The JCBI 13U team faced stiff competition at the 13U State AAA tournament in St. Peters last weekend and went 0-3 for the tournament.
In the first game against the Lee’s Summitt Missouri Heat JC lost 17-2. Corey Beard was the starter and took the loss with Joseph Limbach and Jacob Laughlin pitching relief. JC managed four hits with Alex Johnson picking up a hit and an RBI and Riley Klosterman had a double. Dylan Brauner scored JC’s first run on a walk and a steal and was driven in by Johnson. Johnson scored JC’s other run on a double steal with Dan Haynes.
In the second game JC lost to the Chesterfield Show-Me State Tigers 12-5. Johnson was the starter and took the loss with Scott Stegeman pitching relief. JC had 6 hits with Stegeman picking up 3 RBI and Laughlin picking up 2 RBI. Brauner had a double for JC. Sam Atkinson had 2 hits and scored 2 runs, Trevor Rucker scored 2 runs with a hit, and Haynes scored the other JC run.
JC came close in the final game but lost 5-4 to the Eureka Wildcats. Joey Smith was the starter and took the loss with Brauner pitching relief. JC gave up 3 unearned runs in the loss. The team managed 6 hits with Haynes picking up 2 RBI and Laughlin with 1 RBI. Laughlin and Stegeman had doubles for JC with Johnson, Stegeman, Atkinson and Thomas Beul scoring JC?s runs.
